Ages 3-5
Pre-CanSkate is a crucial tool for new skaters who would like to join skating, primarily for skaters between the ages of 3 and 5. Here skaters learn the basics of skating including: Safely falling down and standing up, skating forward and backward, basic stopping.
Pre-Can Skate
Ages 5+
The CanSkate program is geared to beginners of all ages. Whether you are looking to improve basic skating skills for figure skating, hockey, ringette or speed skating, or wish to skate for recreation, fitness or fun, CanSkate will get you there. The CanSkate program (Stages 1-4) follows a series of balance, control and agility circuits, using a nationally-tested and proven curriculum that supports skater success in developing stronger basic skills on the ice.

Jr. Star Academy is used to focus on the final stages of CanSkate including stages 5 and 6. This program teaches skaters the building blocks and basis of the sport of figure skating in a fun group atmosphere. Skaters will have the opportunity to work on their own ice as well as along side our StarSkaters in their own group. This is a great way to transition into a more independent atmosphere.
Jr Star Academy

StarSkate is a figure skating program that teaches individuals important skills in 4 main areas: Skills, Dance, Freeskate, and Artistic. The STAR 1 – 5 program offers the best-in-class figure skating curriculum in Canada, targeting athletes looking for a future in the sport. Taught by Skate Canada NCCP coaches, the program introduces participants to the basic figure skating elements to create the foundation for singles, pairs, ice dance and synchronized skating. STAR 6 – Gold is an assessment and event structure for skaters who completed the STAR 1-5 Program. This structure builds on the skills acquired in STAR 1-5 and introduces skaters to more advanced figure skating elements.
